Among Mauritanians who requested certain public services over the past 12 months, the majority reported that it was easy to obtain educational services or police assistance. However, about one-third said they had to pay bribes to access these services. Opinions are evenly split regarding the ease of accessing healthcare services, while the majority stated that obtaining identity documents remains very difficult.
According to citizens, education and healthcare are the two most important issues the government should address.
