The SISTA consulting firm conducted a KAP (Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices) survey among women, adolescents, and youth on reproductive health in Mauritania. This survey follows the recommendations arising from the celebration of World Contraception Day. The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with UNFPA, initiated this initiative to better understand the underlying reasons behind certain identified issues.
The study aims to explore behaviors and attitudes related to reproductive health and family planning in Mauritania. It specifically focuses on understanding the social and cultural dynamics that influence individuals’ choices and practices regarding reproductive health. A detailed analysis of these behaviors helps to better understand the challenges the population faces and identify potential leverage points to improve access to family planning services.
